10 Signs Your Sister Is Your Best Friend

I'll never understand those people who have endless complaints about their sister. Maybe I just got lucky, but as cliche as it sounds my sister is hands down my best friend. She is my go-to gal and hanging with her guarantees a good time. Here are 12 signs that practically scream that your sister is your best friend.

1. Your sister always knows what to say...and also when to say nothing.

When at a low point or when that worst nightmare of yours just came true, you go straight to her. She knows exactly what to say but also knows when to say nothing because she realizes that sometimes nothing she can say will make you feel better and she knows that time is what you need — after all, time heals all.

2. Her friends are your friends, no matter the age gap you are always doing things there right beside them.

When she has plans with her friends it's a given that you are invited too. Sometimes you may even catch yourself going to her friends when you're at a time in need or spending more time with her friends than your own.

3. You share the same obsession for food and love venturing out to find new restaurants. Hey, if the menu looks good, no distance is too far to travel.

If there is one thing you never fight about and can always come to an agreement on, it's food. Food is both of our "go-to" things when we are sad or need something to do. We will go home and rave about how good our meal is and count down the days until we find ourselves at the restaurant again.

4. A day without them feels like a week, and a week feels like a year.

Can't stress this one enough. Your sister going away is something you fear and dread. Separation anxiety really kicks in when you can't see her.

5. Chances are you'd much rather have a night in watching your newest obsession on Netflix with her instead of going out to a party.

T.V., food, and cuddles with your best friend? What more could you want on a Friday night!? When you sister is your best friend you manage to make one hell of a night out of nights like these, of course, filled with many laughs.

6. Vacation with them is something that is talked about for months beforehand: you plan out what you're going to do, go shopping for new clothes, and count down the days until you leave with them. Who said a vacation with family isn't fun?!

Vacations with your sister are seriously your favorite. They are something you talk about for the months leading up and continue to talk about for months after. You're guaranteed to have a good time with her.

7. You guys fight over stupid stuff like who gets to cuddle with the family pet, and then just to decide to all lay in a bed together.

No fight last long between you two. After all, you're sisters and you have to love each other right? But seriously...you always manage to come to a happy medium and solve your problems.

8. When you're at a low point and need a shoulder to cry on your sister is the first person you go to.

Something about her hugs and pep talks are so comforting. Like I said, she is your "go-to gal."

9. You tell her all the latest gossip and can't wait to tell her the deets about your new relationship.

She is the first person you run to when you have juicy gossip or dirty deets. Your conversations can go on forever and her advice is always spot on.

10. You can spend hours laughing with her to the point where your stomach hurts.

Laughing is something you do so often and chances are it's over the stupidest things that you somehow both find hysterical.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
