Summertime. It's the time of year we all look forward to. No school, beach days, hot sun, and lots and lots of ice cream. For those who don't work in an ice cream shop, though, it's hard to understand the struggle we workers go through on a regular basis. It's not all perks all the time. Sure, the free ice cream we get makes up for a lot of the pain we go through, but sprinkles don't always fix the bruises some costumers give out. If you do work at an ice cream shop, see if you can relate to some of these.
1. You've become very aware of the weather.
It's sunny and 85 today. We need back up of every flavor.
2. You don't need a gym membership because your arms are so toned from scooping.
Suns out guns out, am I right?
3. You've asked costumers if they wanted chocolate or vanilla sprinkles...
I meant rainbow.
4. You go home smelling like cleaning supplies.
5. You also go home sticky and covered in toppings.
6. You purposely hand change over the tip jar in the hopes it will fall in.
I dare you to pick the change out of my tip jar.
7. Internally screaming when its 9:59, and a group of people walks in when you close at 10.
Me when a group of people walks in right before close....
8. Trying to stay calm when a costumer keeps sampling flavors.
I promise you're not going to like the sugar free flavor today.
9. Conversely, you get super pumped when you recommend a flavor and a costumer orders it.
I know everything!!!
10. Lastly, even though you spend your whole summer around ice cream, you find yourself craving it in the middle of the winter.
