10 Signs You Should Just Stay In

Everyone knows those nights when you are just seriously not feeling it. Your friends are going on about how fun the party is going to be, but all you want to do is sip tea in bed and watch Netflix. So do it!! Just stay in. You will have a million more opportunities to go out, and sometimes, you just need a break. I know FOMO (fear of missing out) can be hard, but don't give in. Here are a few reasons why you really should just stay in:

1. Your friends have to convince you to go out

This is always the #1 sign that you want to stay in. If your friends have to beg and plead you to come, chances are, deep down, you really just don't want to. So don't! If they get mad at you for not going out, they aren't real friends. Take all the time you need to relax.

2. You have nothing to wear

Ughhhhhh. We have all had the nights where we try on a billion and one outfits, and nothing looks right. Definitely a sign. Even your closet wants you to stay home!

3. You don't know many people there

If you get invited to an event where you don't know many people, it could end up being a disaster. Trying to make small talk with strangers all night.. No thanks.

4. Your favorite movie just got added to Netflix

IT'S GO TIME, NETFLIX. Netflix is literally telling you to stay in. Watch it at least once. Maybe twice... Okay three times is enough.

5. You're having a bad hair day

Sometimes you wake up and your hair decides whether or not you get to go out and have fun that night. If it looks like you are about to walk on a runway, go for it. If it looks like you just rolled out of a cave after three days with no food or water, listen to the hair. It's a no.

6. You are low on cash

Going out can get expensive. If it's going to cost you more than your budget and you are on the fence about going, just stay in. You'll thank your piggy bank later.

7. You're already in your Pajamas

Your friends come busting into your room telling you about a party going on in an hour. You're in your pajamas in bed.... Please just stay in. You're already so comfy, why would you want to put on uncomfortable shoes when you could wear your slippers all night?!

8. It's freezing

There's snow and ice on the ground, and there is definitely a possibility of getting frostbite. It's negative temperatures, but it's warm in your house! Warmth beats cold, every time. Stay in.

9. You are exhausted

You felt yourself dozing off and daydreaming all day, and you haven't had a good night's sleep in days. If you go out, you'll most likely get home pretty late. If you stay in, you'll get a good night's sleep and feel rejuvenated for the next day.

10. You just aren't feeling it

If your gut says don't go, don't go. There's nothing wrong with staying in!

At the end of the day, no one can make you go out. You can beat FOMO and stay in and relax. You know you want to!!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
