It is an inevitable fact that us girls will go to extremes for a guy to like us. We’ll dress up to go to a coffee shop or even Home Depot if we know he is going to be there. But the hardest part of liking a guy is not knowing if he likes you back. It can drive a girl crazy not being able to tell if he is flirting with you or just being friendly. It can either go two ways after you’ve publically announced to all your friends you’re in love with him: he likes you back and ultimately you guys can become a “thing” or he doesn’t like you, and you have to begin the dreary and disheartening process of getting over him. Whether you’re in the stage of getting over him or not knowing his feelings towards you but you're still so lovingly obsessed with his hazel eyes, this is a list that will honestly prove to you that you might never get over him.

1. You can’t help but always bring him up when talking to your friends.

Once you’ve told one of your friends that you're crushing hard on this guy, it is imminent you will always bring him up because nothing is better than venting to your friend about your love sickness. Plus, friends are always there to give you good advice, such as not putting him on this pedestal high above you. In the end, he’s not a God and he’s not perfect, but is very handsome and your obviously infatuated. Cue weary emoji.

2. You're constantly on his Instagram.

You’re always scrolling through his pictures on his Instagram admiring his beautifulness.

3. You freak out when you see a picture of him with another girl.

When you see that photo of him at prom with a girl or at some event (even if it is from three years ago) you get really worried and then you look at the girl's Instagram, comparing yourself to her. The important thing to realize here, and I keep telling myself this, is that guys WILL always like girls the way they are. If you pretend to be someone else you're losing that spark, that quality your crush is falling for (if he is falling for you). Be yourself. That’s always the better road to take.

4. If you run into him between classes, it’s the highlight of your day!

You're walking to class, stressed out of your mind with finals approaching and a paper due tomorrow, but then you see your man, a golden hue surrounding him. Your heart drops into your stomach, your blushing like crazy, you swallow, and try to slow down your breathing. Whether you have a nice decently long conversation with him or it is just a simple hey, your day has automatically gotten better!

5. Every time you think about him (which is a lot) you feel a combination of like you are going to get sick mixed with the feeling of butterflies in your stomach.

Studying is a struggle because you take a break to daydream about him after every two sentences of reading. You may feel nauseous and this weird pounding in your chest. It is all normal. You have been diagnosed with love sickness.

6. Every morning you wake up with the intention of looking good just in case you see him.

You set your alarm for precisely 7:30. You spend a good hour in the morning pampering yourself for no reason expect to impress your crush if you see him! Of course, you want your makeup to look natural as if you woke up like this. But as all girls know the no-makeup makeup look takes the longest.

7. When you actually tell your mom your crushing on this guy hard you know it is serious.

It is a big deal when you finally tell your mom that you're practically in love with this guy. You send her pictures of him, and she too agrees that he would be a great boyfriend.

8. You can’t help it but you’ve already told three-fourths of campus you like this guy.

This isn’t true for all, but for me, someone you needs to tell everyone my problems and what is going on in my life, this is a big distinguishing factor of when I’m for sure never going to get over a guy. You realize this is a big problem once a lot of people are asking you for updates. You then have to schedule an abnormal amount of lunch dates with friends in order to bring them up to date.

9. When John Legend’s All of Me comes on, you can’t help but imagine you and your crush living in that house by Lake Como like in the music video. And you are Chrissy Teigen looking flawless, smiling and in love.

The whole music video lives up to every girl’s daydreams of what they want their future to be like. Riding on a speed boat throughout the nostalgic lake of Italy, the wind blowing in your face and your handsome husband behind you just smiling, so completely and incandescently in love with you, how can you beat that? And let us not forget that pool scene with the backdrop of the Italian mountains. Hashtag goals.

10. You think about your future together.

Ok don’t think I’m crazy or weird for saying this, but you know it is true. Once a girl gets her imagination going she can’t stop daydreaming about what will happen next: the first date you two will have, a romantic day at the carnival, your first kiss, a picnic at the park, the proposal!

So if you were able to put a checkmark next to each one, well then I hate to tell you but you just might never get over your crush. Always remind yourself that you deserve better and try not to cry over someone who wouldn't cry over you. Ask yourself the question, is he worth it?
