It’s an amazing time of year with warm sun, fun, endless days. But of course, not everything is as it seems. We all go through the same things every summer and it’s kind of hilarious.
1. You don’t have an extensive summer wardrobe
Even though you thought you were going to stock up on cute, flowy summer dresses, that just never happened. My entire wardrobe consists of black, grey, and some white. Basically, nothing conducive to the summer sun.
2. It’s too hot for a blanket but too cold for just a sheet
It’s not cold enough for you to bundle up in your entire comforter, but without it, you feel a little naked. So, you end up with your legs half out and sprawled out on your bed in a pool of sweat.
3. Your summer diet didn’t necessarily pan out
It should’ve started months ago, but you never really got around to making it a permanent part of your lifestyle. Now, all you’re going to do is chill at home anyways so who even cares?
4. Watching Netflix when you thought you would be partying all summer
We’ve all been there. Sometimes you just want to chill out rather than party it up like you thought you would with your friends from home. Honestly, there are worse things.
5. The extensive bug bites you are about to receive
Summer is a great time for some sun and relaxation, just as long as you don’t get eaten alive by the mass amounts of bugs that come out as well.
6. Never going on those summer trips you thought you would
You make all these plans on amazing road trips you’re going to go on with your girlfriends but to no avail. The farthest road trip you’re going to go on is probably to each other’s houses.
7. Shaving is a thing of the past
...at least until fall comes around again. Are you seeing anyone you need to impress? If you answered no, your legs are not getting shaven. It’s too much work and honestly who cares, it’s summer.
8. Getting into a hot car and feel like you’re suffocating
Especially if it’s a black car or black interior: death. Car air conditioning is a true savior.
9. You have no idea what day of the week it is
It just feels like every day is a Friday. Unless you’re working, then you definitely know the exact time and date while you desperately look forward to the weekend.
10. You can’t wait to go back to school
Not for the actual studying and learning, but to see all of your friends day in and day out.
