In this article I am supposed to be listing off 10 reasons why you shouldn't be involved with what is going on in the world around us. So many people out there don't pay attention to what is going on, so it shouldn't be too hard to find 10 reasons why people shouldn't pay attention to the news right?

Wrong.

There are no reasons why someone should not be involved with what is going on in the world around us. The time period we are in right now is full of political tension between parties and nations, and I believe that the biggest reason for this is that people are just not informed on what is actually going on.

The term fake news is one that we have all been hearing in the media almost daily now. We talk about how media that doesn't support our personal views is "fake news" and that is not the case. News that is correct and supports the other side is just of real of news as the news that supports your personal opinion.

The only true definition of fake news is news that is yourself true or only uses some of the source. Do not allow yourself to be someone who calls news sources that don't politically line up with you fake news sources. You are a massive part of the problem if you do.

What our world really needs in a time like this is our people to be more informed. We are facing so much bias right now because that is what the media is having us see. The way to combat this is by becoming more informed and looking at multiple news sites even if we do not support what they say. We must open up our minds to different opinions, so we can see what the other sides opinion is.

Our world is in a spot where there is a lot of hate and animosity between people, and it is beginning to show when we have protests turn violent and deaths occurring when people are just trying to spread their opinions. We cannot allow this problem to continue on. We must do our fellow Americans a favor and each become more informed. We cannot let this hate continue and we must help our nation move forward.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
