A lot of people get embarrassed by their moms easily for anything from the too much hugging or their corny jokes. But while many would rather be going on the weekends with their friends, I'd rather be at home hanging out with my mom, for those very reasons and so many more.

Here are 10 reasons why my mom is my best friend:

1. She gives the best hugs in the whole world.

Any time of day, I can walk up to my mom, and she'll give me the best, most snuggly hug. One of those hugs that make you feel safe and comfortable beyond belief.

2. I can talk to her about anything.

From my college social life to academics, to my plans for the future. She listens to every detail and never complains about it.

3. We have the best coffee dates.

We have no problem hanging out and drinking coffee and just chatting the afternoon away.

4. There are never-ending plans on the weekends.

Every time I come home, my mom has a full weekend of plans for us. We clean, we try new food places, and we shop. I love it.

5. She never judges me.

Unlike regular friends, your mom will never judge you. And that's the best, especially if you're the type to make a lot of mistakes.

6. She always gives the best advice.

Any problem, big or small, my mom can solve it. She gives tech advice, relationship advice, friend advice, travel advice, really all the advice you could ever need.

7. She picks up the phone 24/7.

Every time I call, my mom picks up. And she listens.

8. She knows me the best.

Everything and anything.

9. There's always time for a late night diner date.

Just sitting inside the hometown diner and talking for hours while sipping on coffee. My favorite moments.

10. She always cares the most.

As most mom's do, they care the most about you. I don't know what I would do without the love, support, and care from my best friend.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
