When September arrives, on the one hand, it brings me a tear of melancholy. Our summer habits change, we have to get up early to go to school, and we have to study and work hard. It’s hard to get back to the winter routine.

Who doesn’t get stressed thinking about September? Unfortunately, summer can’t last forever, and reflecting, it would be monotonous to always live in summer.

On the other hand, one of the things that I like most is the magical season: fall, the most fascinating and colorful period of the year.

Fall is nearly upon us, what are you waiting for? Get ready for it, and don’t miss all the extraordinary things that this season offers you!!

Here are my 10 most exciting things to do when fall arrives.

1.Admiring the stunning landscape.

This colorful landscape gives me a sense of magic. There’s nothing better than seeing those leaves changing color, those red, yellow, orange and brown hues that surround you. Look around you, it really looks like a painter had fun with colors and brushes. You can’t be emotionless to all this beauty. Go out, walk, sit under the trees, breathe the autumn sensation and lose yourself in the bright colors that enclose you. It doesn’t seem true, it’s an unreal scenery.

2. Fall Fashion.

When this season comes, I can’t wait to wear different clothes: sweaters, cardigans, pants and boots. After wearing light outfits all summer, there’s nothing better than wearing long sleeves and long pants, matching new outfits and new colors.

3.Halloween decorations.

This is the period of the year in which I enjoy decorating my house in a very fantastic and frightening way. There’s nothing better than adorning your house with pumpkins cut in different ways. Have fun making strange, scary faces, and after putting candles inside, try to make them as creepy as possible! It doesn’t seem like Halloween if you don’t have at least one pumpkin in your yard!

4. Baking time.

This is the time of the year you go in the kitchen and try to figure out what to make. Cakes, cookies, muffins, apple pies, you can indulge in whatever you prefer. The more you cook, the more you gain weight! But, it’s a risk to take, invite your friends and let them help you in getting fat!

5.The beginning of “Grey’s Anatomy”.

I love this time of year because my favorite TV series starts. What can I do, I’m addicted to this show, and I can’t wait for the 22nd of September for the beginning of the new season. If Grey's Anatomy isn't your thing, don't worry! Fall is the perfect time for any of your favorite TV shows to come back and start their new seasons. It’s the best time of the year to sit on the couch while it’s raining outside and watch your favorite program on TV.

6.Thanksgiving.

It’s the big holiday that precedes Christmas. Everyone can’t wait for this long weekend to spend time together with their family and friends. It’s not Thanksgiving if you don’t eat turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries, pumpkin pies and other traditional foods. And we’re not Americans if we don’t watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

7.Black Friday.

Let’s face it, after eating so much on Thanksgiving, we can’t refuse doing some Black Friday shopping! It's become a tradition. Many go at night, and stay on line outside a certain store trying to get that special deal on an item that is on sale. Even if it seems a waste of time, it’s an incredible experience, it’s worth your time and worth your money!

8.The rain smells better in the fall.

Even though it is usually raining outside, there’s nothing better than sitting on your window seat and reading your favorite book while listening to the rain. There’s nothing more relaxing than breathing the scent of the rain that falls on the grass, and the noise when it hits the window. It’s a special Autumn melody!

9.Sitting in front of the fire.

The beginning of cold weather means lighting the fire and sitting next to it with a cup of coffee. Appreciate these relaxing moments as you get swamped with homework. It's a great way to relax right before you go to bed!

10.Leaves crushing under your feet.

This is the perfect season to go jogging because it’s not too cold and not very hot. It’s a great time to walk or to run. And while you do so, in this extraordinarily beautiful scenery, you can’t help but step on all those colorful leaves. While you walk on them you make a special sound that characterizes this season.

There is only one thing to say: Welcome Fall!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
