Haven't checked out the new bookstore? What are you waiting for?

Here are 10 reasons why you should take a break from homework and take a nice stroll down Main Street to Longwood University's NEW bookstore:

1. It still has all the essentials you need.

Besides reading material, the new bookstore still has all the school supplies to sustain your semester, including blue books, highlighters, calculators, laptops, textbooks, and more.

2. Their music playlist gets you in a productive mood.

Their folk playlists and instrumental movie scores are just what college kids need to get in a homework mood. Plus, writing your English paper to the Harry Potter theme song feels pretty legit.

3. They're already selling Christmas merchandise.

Ornaments, cards, and tiny stuffed animals. They've got it all!

4. There's more seating available at the Starbucks now.

At the previous location in The Landings, you had to either go at a convenient time or brave sitting at a table with someone you didn't know. At the new location, extra seating provides more space to spread out your homework. The new bar seating by the window allows you to work on assignments while still being able to see all the goings-on outside. There's also a place called The Vault within the bookstore where you can rent out a place to study!

5. A lot more LU apparel in stock.

There are two floors of clothing and LU paraphernalia. TWO!

6. You can spend all day there and they don't ask you to leave.

Until closing time, that is.

Hours:

Mon-Sat. 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Sun. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

7. Awesome merchandise at affordable prices.

Nothing beats a new Longwood sweatshirt for the holiday seasons!

8. The aesthetic is bomb.

I could literally survive and thrive at Barnes & Noble. Food, coffee, school supplies, books: that's all you need in life!

9. More reading content to appreciate because the location is larger.

More space = more books!

10. Reading is sexy.

Need I say more? I think not. Get your favorite book, grab a yummy coffee drink, and enjoy some quiet time!

Visit the new Longwood bookstore TODAY!

You won't regret it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
