If you are a college student you have probably had good and bad experiences with roommates. There are many things I am thankful for this time of year and one of them is by far my amazing roommate. I’m thankful that I have had mostly good experiences and that I made a life long friend with my roommate. We have been through a lot together in the 2 short years we have known each other, but I am so thankful for who you inspire me to be. I can’t imagine college without you!

1. We experienced the awkward moments of being roommates and she still likes me.

Starting from the moment you first meet your roommate in your freshman year, there's a lot of awkward encounters. Through all of the learning experiences, I am grateful for someone I have been able to grow closer to.

2. She encourages me.

Sometimes you just need someone to push you and tell you that everything will work out.

3. She supports my decisions.

I don't always have the right answers or great instincts. I'm happy to have someone who supports all that I do.

4. She forces me out of my comfort zone.

I tend to stick to what's comfortable and familiar to me. While I don't usually want to venture into the unfamiliar, I am thankful for someone who pushes me to the unfamiliar.

5. She understands when I need space.

In a little dorm room and a campus full of people, sometimes you just want space.

6. She gives me advice.

I'm thankful for someone who doesn't just sit by and watch me make mistakes. Thank you for your guidance and advice in life.

7. She shares her groceries with me.

Sometimes you need a splash of milk, a package of ramen, or a change in wardrobe. Thank you for sharing all you have with me.

8. She encourages my spiritual life.

Friends who share a spiritual connection bond on such a deeper level, Thank you for encouraging me in who Christ has made me to be and pushing me to continue growing in Him.

9. She accepts me for who I am.

I have my quirks and weird habits. Sharing a room and bathroom reveals all of those things. Thank you for accepting all the weird things about me.

10. We can rely on each other.

I can count on you for anything. Thanks for responding for my random texts, taking me out when I need an adventure, and supporting me in my moments of weakness.

Thank you, to my roommate. I hope I have been able to bless you in life as well. For those reading this, take time to appreciate the people in your life. Be thankful for the ways God has blessed you through them.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
