We are so blessed.

With Thanksgiving just a few short days away, there's so much to be thankful for this year.

1. I am thankful for America.

No matter your political stand, we live in a free country. Not everyone has that liberty, and it's something we should be more grateful for.

2. I am thankful for our military and their families.

They sacrifice so much for us, and we show them such little respect. They leave their families months at a time to defend our country. Thank you, we wouldn't be "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" without you.

3. I am thankful for my family.

My family members are my greatest cheerleaders and I honestly have no idea what I would do without each of them.

4. I am thankful for my college education.

College is expensive and college is hard. My parents have always said, "If college was easy everyone would have a degree." As I am nearing graduation, I completely understand that sentence now.

5. I am thankful for the freedom to worship my God when and where I choose.

There are countries all over this world where Christian's get persecuted for their beliefs. Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to be born in America!

6. I am thankful for new seasons of life.

Each year the leaves change, they fall, and then in the spring they sprout new flowers. Just like in life, you go through "seasons." Each season you are in prepares you for the one to come. So no matter what's happening now, there's always something to look forward to in the future.

7. I am thankful for my health.

It's easy to take something like that for granted.

8. I am thankful for all of the life lessons I have had to learn.

Some have been easier than others, but I wouldn't be who I am today without each lesson.

9. I am thankful for clean, running water.

There are so many countries where that isn't even an option. We are so lucky, because we can go take a shower whenever we want or we can go get a cup of water from the faucet. We are so blessed.

10. I am thankful for Mississippi.

Look, I love my home state. I don't care what you say about Mississippi, it is home. There is no where else where you can find people as friendly as us. Once you visit, you might just want to stay a spell, too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
