10 Reasons You'll Never Own A Dog As Amazing As A Rottweiler
Lynn Kerns

I’m one of the lucky ones. I have been blessed by the presence of three Rottweilers in my life; Rocky, Kodiak, and Balto. Although each one of them was different in their own right, they all shared ten qualities that prove they are not the monsters the media makes them out to be. I hope by the end of this list, you too will come to understand the beauty, strength, majesty, and love of Rottweilers.

1. They are the cutest damn puppies to grace us with their presence.

Have you seen anything cuter? I think not.

2. They have such personality. Trust Me.

My dogs: "Oh were you planning on sleeping here?"

Me: "Actually, yeah considering it's my bed..."

My dogs: "Well, it looks like you're going to have to make other plans because we're not moving."

Me: "Ok then...I guess I'll take the floor."

3. They will protect you with all they have.

These dogs have chosen you as their person; their pack leader. They won't let any harm come to you.

4. They give the best doggy kisses. No lie.

They give you kisses when you least expect it. See Exhibit A above.

5. They love to play.

Whether it's a doggy wrestling match, fetch, tug-o-war or running in circles, they are always having the best time.

6. They make the best pillows. That is until you become their pillow.

Having an 88+ lbs dog sitting on your chest or throat definitely isn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but they sit on you because they love you...and they think they're still the 10 lbs puppy you brought home six years ago.

7. They're always by your side.

Their loyalty is unwavering. Don't you dare take it for granted.

8. They comfort you.

Sometimes you just need a hug and they are happy to oblige.

9. They wiggle!

Ahhh, the wiggle. The wiggle symbolizes that their level of excitement can no longer be contained. (Warning: one may be knocked down in order to receive puppy kisses)

10. They constantly make you smile and feel loved.

Dogs just radiate happiness and love. They don't care who you are, or what you look like. They don't care if you went to sleep with your makeup on the night before and now look like a raccoon. They love you for you; unconditionally.

I'm a firm believer that its the person who makes the dog. Treat them well, and they will give you all the love in the world. Now, don't get me wrong, a dog can have a bad day just like we humans can, so don't judge them as a whole based on one bad day. Don't judge the entire breed for the actions of a few ill trained Rotts. As you can see, Rottweiler's are truly amazing! So, go make a donation to a Rottie rescue near you! Or better yet, foster or adopt if you have the space in your heart and home for the best friend you didn't even know you needed.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
