The Perfect University for Me

10 Reasons Why I Love Eastern University
Eastern University

During my senior year of high school, I looked at so many colleges and applied to even more. I got accepted to all the schools I applied to but one, and I was really happy with my progress. I visited most of these colleges and at the end, my intent was to attend Albright College. However, it was clear that God had other plans for me. Honestly, I cannot say that I am disappointed. I got accepted to Eastern University even though I did not remember applying, and honestly, I was really shocked by that fact. It was not my acceptance that made me attend here; however, it was a lot more than just being accepted. Here are the top 10 reasons why I attended Eastern University and why I love it here so very much:

10. Admissions Counselor

When I got an email from my admissions counselor say "Congratulations" I was extremely confused. I sat and thought to myself, " I cannot remember applying here," but that thought quickly left my mind. My admissions counselor was so nice and helpful throughout the entire process. He made sure that everything was okay and that I had all the information I needed as an incoming freshmen. He was really nice and that was one of the reasons why I changed my mind about where I wanted to attend.

9. The People

In the simplest terms possible Eastern University has the nicest people I have met. Not only are the people nice, but they are extremely genuine which makes the school even more appealing.

8. Community

This goes hand-in-hand with the previous point. Not only are there genuinely nice people here, but there is also a great deal of community on this campus. This was another thing I really liked about Eastern.

7. The Size

When I was looking for a college I wanted something small, but not to small and Eastern provided that. Though the school that I wanted to go to before Eastern was small, it was too spread out and I did not like that. However, Eastern is the perfect size!

6. Class Sizes

I love the fact that my classes are small. My biggest class last year had maybe 25 students in it. With small classes, you become a person and not a number and being a person in college is very important to me.

5. Professors

There is nothing better than being able to have your professor for a class know you and call you by name. The one on one interaction that you get during classes is great. Just the plain fact that they truly care about you and your education makes going here worth it.

4. Affordable

Eastern is very affordable for a private university. Not only is it affordable, but Eastern also tries their best to help out financially as much as they can which is important to college students feeling the financial strain.

3. Tour

I was impressed with Eastern once I actually decided to visit. My tour guide was extremely friendly, and while being here, I felt at home which was something I never really felt at other colleges.

2. Campus

Eastern University has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. The beauty that you see here every day can melt your heart. Eastern has a nature-filled campus but still has that suburban feel which is really nice. There is also a lot of history with this school.

1. God

The number one reason I attended Eastern University is because I felt like this was where God wanted me. I felt like I belonged here, and honestly, I do not think I could have gotten this feeling anywhere else. Also, it is a plus that Eastern is a Christian university!

Though no school is perfect, there are a lot of pros to being at Eastern University. I am really happy that I decided to attend here instead of any other school that I applied to.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
