When I think of my best friend the first thing that comes to my mind is soul mate. Now many of you are probably thinking that my best friend is my partner but not in this case. Much like Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang say about one another, my significant other is the love of my life but my best friend is my soul mate. She embodies everything in a person that I would want by my side and she is literally me in someone else’s body. Here’s why:
1. They are your person
Whether this means she is there for me at 2AM when they have to be up two hours later for the biggest interview of their life, or I did something really bad and they are right there by your side to cover it up, they are always there because they are your person.
2. You all never get bored
Never. you could sit on a couch for hours doing nothing but looking at Instagram and watching TV and never get bored just enjoy that the other one is by our side.
3. They are always honest
Do I look fat in these pants? Yeah, they’re not the most flattering. They are always 100% honest even if it’s no necessarily what you want to hear.
4. No judgment
You know you’ve found a best friend that doubles as your soul mate when they don’t judge your decisions past or present.
5. You’re always in communication
This can mean that you are always texting, snapchatting, making weird noises at each other, or even making conversation through looks in a room where you cannot voice your opinion out loud.
6. Double dating
No one wants to go to dinner with the two of you because it is far worse than going on any double date with a couple in the honeymoon phase. Your inside jokes are a lot to handle and when you are together you are double the annoying so that is also not ideal.
7. They get you
It doesn’t matter what you’re saying or if you actions are not justified because they totally understand why you’re doing it and what you’re saying without even having to think. They completely understand you in ways you don’t even understand yourself.
8. They’re honest about your significant other
This is very important as this person is going to be taking care of you in ways that your best friend won’t. Their opinion of your significant other is huge. Plus you have to get their approval first and they’ll basically be dating your bf/gf also soooo…
9. You get anxiety about living far away from one another
When you have to be grown ups and live apart it is going to give you so much anxiety it’s not even funny. Not being able to just open their front door whenever you want is going to suck.
10. It’s never awkward
Even if you haven’t seen your best friend in months besides Snapchat and Facetime as soon as you’re together again it is like it’s been no time at all, everything falls right back into place.
