(Wo)Man's best friend, the fur-ball homie for life, the annoying little thing that doesn't stop barking. There are many names for the little bundles of love (case and point), and even more reasons why you should know the pleasure of having one. Grab your pooper scooper, ladies and gentlemen, because I'm about to make you want a dog.

1. Endless amounts of love ...

There was actually a scientific study that proved dogs get the same rush of oxytocin that humans do when they look at us. How adorable and satisfying is that? Apparently there is such a thing as having "the eyes" for someone.

2. Dogs make us laugh!

Shout out to the man in the back staring at Marnie's cuteness. We, too, are in awe of the innocence that is before us. It's their darn adorableness that we have to thank for all the dog Instagrams we follow, and why they're so popular to begin with. Who doesn't want to see an adorable dog to brighten their day?

3. Walking to the most active state of your life

Part of the responsibility of being a dog owner is that you need to take them out on walks. They force you to go outside and get some fresh air, and with all this extra exercise you're doing, just think of the toned legs and healthy heart you're achieving! Side note: don't be the person who puts your dogs on treadmills.

4. You're given a sense of purpose.

You need to be there for them, and they're there for you. It's a win-win situation.

5. We meet more people.

I get stopped a lot more when I'm out with my dog. Actually,100 percent more. People just tend to naturally like you when you have a dog and it's because when you see a person with a dog, you feel like you can trust them, they're dog people ... or their dog is just adorable.

6. Dogs are loyal.

They're pack animals, so naturally that accounts for the strong bonds they create with their owners and other members of the family. More than that, dogs are protectors. Would you trust your child with a cat?... I mean, I'm just saying ...

7. They literally think you're the best thing ever.

If you were put in a room with George Clooney and Meryl Streep, they would still pick you. I don't know a bigger confidence booster than that.

8. Our health actually improves.

Dogs help prevent asthma and allergies in children exposed to them by introducing dust. Adopt ALL the dogs! Prevent ALL the allergies!

9. They bring us happiness.

It's simple really. They're comforting, loving animals and what's the natural response but happiness? With dogs, people are less likely to be depressed and stressed, and our oxytocin levels raise when we look our little love boats in their beautiful, pure eyes.

10. They're not cats.

Above is a perfect example. The dog's just minding his own business, when the princess doesn't like how close she's getting. I don't know ... seems pretty evilly pretentious to me.

Please note: My allergies to cats have in no way biased my opinion.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
