10 Random Questions We All Have Throughout The Day

Please say I'm not the only person wondering these things

Whether it be walking to dinner or daydreaming in class, my brain always tends to be going. What crosses my brain is always a mystery from one second to the next. If you see me around, I'll probably be thinking about one of these things (or something equally as crazy).

1. Did I bring my wallet with me?

I think I put it in my bag? I hope I did. What if I lost it? Then I'll have to cancel my cards. Then I won't be able to get into my house. Then I won't have my student ID and won't get into Newc. [Fervently checks book bag, rummaging to the bottom to unveil wallet] Oh wow, I worked myself up for nothing. (Silently vowing to never take eyes off of wallet ever again)

2. Why is my posture so bad?

I’m 5’1”, I really can’t afford to slouch. [Starts to stand up straighter] Why didn’t I go to one of those fancy schools that teaches you to sit upright like they do in the movies? I’m going to become a hunchback before the age of 25 if I keep this up. [Gets tired of standing straight and slouches once again] Oh well, what’s meant to be will be.

3. If I met my high school self, would I like me?

I was pretty wacky... but also I'm still wacky. I feel more mature, but I thought I was mature then. If I had to guess, I think my old self would scare the crap out of my current self. But even worse? Having an out of body experience in which I see the two me's interact.

4. What do hospitals do with organs that they take out of people's bodies?

So many surgeries happen every day… do they have a room for all the leftover organs? Do they have an incinerator that they chuck them into? Do they go to science? Do they bury them? So many possibilities

5. Has anyone famous walked exactly where I am walking now?

What if Tina Fey stopped to tie her shoe right here?! Oooh, what if I become famous one day and someone wonders if I’ve walked right here?

6. How did I get to the thought I am thinking about right now?

Ok, so I’m thinking about shrimp now. How did I get here? Oh yeah, first I was thinking about how I miss not having to do my own laundry and then how I miss childhood in general. Then I remembered watching Drake and Josh and eating frosting out of a car after I got home from school back in the day, and then I remembered the episode of Drake and Josh with the jumbo shrimp. So basically laundry = shrimp.

7. Is anyone thinking about me right now?

I think about people randomly, so that means that other people think of people randomly, too. What if I randomly pop into someone’s brain? What do they think of? Is it good? Is it bad? You know what, I don’t want to know. But also I kind of do.

8. How many humans exist right now? Right now? And now? And now?

Just think of how the number has changed since you read this sentence.

9. What facts about life do we believe now that will be proved wrong in 100 years?

Does the universe really revolve around the sun? How many planets are there actually? Does 2+2 really equal 4?

10. What will my life look like a year from now?

I could honestly spend hours on this question alone. Pick an area of life and go crazy.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
