It's no doubt I despise our current presidential nominees. To see my thoughts on them, feel free to read my last article on the ethical pitfalls of both candidates. There are so many people I'd rather see elected. Some serious, some jokingly... all likely better than our current options.
1. Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope
Have you watched Scandal? The woman rules DC and the White House. She's a fixer, she's ethical and she is just badass (Read this Huffpost article on how she's changing leadership for women).
2. Morgan Freeman
I mean he is God in almost everything and he does an extraordinary job. That voice gets the attention of everyone. He is a role model and a man of many talents - legendary actor, dancer, businessman and licensed pilot. He served his country. He knows how to overcome adversity and did so after a tough childhood. He beat alcoholism after his dad died from being an alcoholic. He is a big advocate in the racial and social equality fights with racism and same-sex marriage. He is also a philanthropist - he lends a hand in natural disasters, he is heavily involved in Mississippi animal activism and he is a a big contributor for the Campaign for Female Education.
She is hilarious. She is intelligent. She is a body image role model. She understands the struggle of being a nerdy kid. She is a strong Indian woman in one of the toughest industries. She is humble and down-to-earth even after reaching great success. She is so real and so likable. We all want to hang out with her.
4. Blake Shelton
He's honest. He says what he thinks. He doesn't believe in being politically correct. He's funny. He's an old-school mentality, country music singer who is authentic to a fault. He's a great coach and mentor- just watch The Voice. He even started the idea by tweeting about running after the RNC.
5. Will Smith
He already threw the idea out there for us when he said Trump was going to force him to run. He cares about the future of our country. He can sing, he can act, he's handsome and he's a family man. He has nailed every role he's landed as an actor, no doubt he can play politician better than most of the existing politicians. He deplores Trump and the sexist comments he's made - he is a stand up gentleman.
6. Julia Roberts
She has an effortless grace about her. She stays out of negative publicity. She is a wonderful wife and mother. I mean have you seen Eat, Pray, Love - she . She stays out of religious and political drama and keeps her opinions to herself. She has ethical values and was raised catholic and baptist but is now a practicing Hindu.
7. Peyton Manning
Talk about class and exemplary sportsmanship. If he can be that strategic and well-composed in the football arena he can surely stay composed and strategic in the political arena. He has strong character and morals. He's a great family man. He was a stud football player. He is an awesome team player. He believes in hard work and has an exceptional work ethic - he knows how to put in the hours, sweat and tears.
8. George Clooney
He has definite name recognition. He's a man of action. He has definitely gotten increasingly better with age - such a handsome man. He's married to a UN lawyer. He's intelligent. He's a gentleman. He's a humanitarian. He jumps into causes he believes in like Darfur. He grew up smart and politically-educated with his dad being a journalist and Congressional candidate.
9. Jimmy Fallon
He's insanely in touch. He knows what's going on constantly in the world - it's his job. He can make us laugh at the disastrous chaos we live in. He makes a better Trump than Trump. He brings out the best in people on his show. He laughs at himself. He can literally impersonate anyone - so no doubt he can better impersonate a politician than any of the existing jokers. No high-profile dating escapades for him - he quickly met and married his wife early in his career. He's the nice guy of late night. He loves his job. We love him.
10. Matt Mullenweg
He founded Wordpress. His company Automattic runs about 26% of the internet. All of his employees are remote and ridiculously happy. If he can run a company growing at a high rate, manage a team across the world and want to change the world, he's doing something right. He's passionate about changing lives and the way the internet works - a big proponent of open-source software. His sites reach over a billion people in the world and he does it with the smallest team. He advises and invests in startups. He's a philanthropist and gets involved with organizations that touch on simple surviving issues to more complicated tech world issues. He's been on Inc's 30 Under 30 and Business Week's 25 Most Influential People. He likes sharing his knowledge any way he can. His title at Automattic is Chief BBQ Taste Tester and he has gives his employees equally as awesome titles. He's done all of this as a college dropout (he was pursuing a degree in political science). He plays the saxophone. He's a Texan.
