As a North Carolina native, there are are plenty of things that you just know off the top of your head. From sports to food, North Carolina is unique in a way that only a true Northcarolinian would understand. Here are ten things that everyone from North Carolina knows!

1. Summer lasts forever.

We all know that the sweating starts in late April, the humidity lasts until November, and it is about 60 degrees on Christmas.

2. Cook Out is a diet staple.

Especially for us broke college students, Cook Out is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread.

3. College football is no joke.

Just like about every other Southern state, North Carolina is no exception when it comes to states who are passionate about some college football.

4. South Carolina only exists for vactions and gas.

You only go to South Carolina to go to the beach, Charleston, or to get cheaper gas.

5. One inch of snow cancels everything.

Lets be honest, there really only needs to be chance of snow for the whole state to be shut down.

6. North Carolina was first in flight, not Ohio.

If you haven't been to Kitty Hawk you still know that North Carolina will always win the debate over where the Wright brothers took flight.

7. All of the words to Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker.

And if you don't, you obviously haven't been to an NC State football game.

8. Everyone has a strong opinion about UNC, Duke, and NC State.

You either are a die hard fan of one of the three or hate them all, there is no in between (GO PACK).

9. We have the best of both worlds: the beach and the mountains.

Only a few states have this luxury and we are lucky enough to be one of them.

10. The name of at least one NASCAR driver.

Even if you hate NASCAR, there is no way you can live in North Carolina and not know the name of one driver.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
