It's final season, and we all know what that means. From hours upon dreaded hours spent in the library, to the few precious hours of sleep we only hope to get, it's about the furthest it gets from the "most wonderful time of the year." So whether you're in the library right now, or about to head back to study some more, here are just a few thing's you'll definitely see there during this "wonderful" time of year.
1. The same person for days in a row.
Have they still not left the library? Have you still not left the library? You
honestly don’t remember, and odds are they don’t either.
2. People sleeping.
People will be
drooling on the floor. Book bags will suddenly become pillows. You’ll look over to ask your study buddies a question,
and catch them mid-yawn. What are finals really if there’s not a little sleep
deprivation involved?
3. Coffee, coffee everywhere.
The trashcans will be filled to the brim with
coffee cups. Every person you pass by will probably be coming back from buying
a cup. It’ll be in the air, it’ll be everywhere.
4. Tears.
The struggle is real during finals season, and no
struggle is complete without a few tears. While you probably feel like crying
your eyes out, have faith, you can succeed. Besides, a few tears never hurt anyone (at least that's what I keep telling myself).
5. People standing outside on the phone.
9 times out of 10 (and I know this from personal
experience), they’re on the phones with their mom. Whether they’re
contemplating dropping out, or just ready to come home, sometimes Mom is the
only answer to that Chemistry question you’ve been working on for the last
hour.
6. The sweet sight of success.
Either they finally got the right answer to that
Calculus problem, or they finished that 10 page paper they’ve been
working on for the last week. In either case, that beautiful moment after you
finally succeed is probably the most joy you’ll feel all week.
7. Empty Vending Machines.
You haven’t eaten since lunch, and it’s currently
going on 1 o’clock in the morning. You grab a dollar and head to the vending
machines, only to find it completely wiped out. It really does feel like the
world is working against you.
8. Not a single empty seat (in the entire building).
There are literally people everywhere. You’re
actually tripping over people just trying to find a seat. You might end up
sitting on the floor in a corner, but hey, at least you’ll find a seat, right?
9. The end of finals week.
If you stay there long enough (even though you really probably shouldn't), you will see the end of finals week. Less and less people fill the library, you leave yourself to take your last exam, and before you even know it, the week will be over. Hold on, have faith, and believe in yourself because you can beat finals week.
