College teaches you a lot of things that you need to know to be successful in your career. Some of the most important things it teaches you, however, are how to fake your way through any situation when you have no idea what's going on or just aren't having it.
1. Being sick.
For emergency use only, and be prepared for professors to ask you how you’re feeling when you come back.
2. Being awake.
I never knew how well I could function while completely asleep until college.
3. Being happy.
Sometimes you’re just not. And that’s okay.
4. Caring.
Most of the time, you don’t.
5. Doing the reading.
Don’t make a habit out of this. Do your homework, kids.
6. Being nice.
But also letting people know you are in no mood to have a conversation.
7. Laughing.
Professors make jokes and your grade will thank you for laughing. Besides, it’s really uncomfortable to watch them suffer up there.
8. Paying attention.
Another thing not to make a habit of. Notes save lives.
9. Knowing what’s actually going on in your classes.
For when your parents ask.
10. Having your life together.
The best life skill college can give you.
