10 Items You NEED For Your Summer Travels

I don't like paying $15 for a coffee and a bagel at the airport.

Who all has amazing trips planned for this summer? I know I do! I compiled a list of everything that is a MUST HAVE for every trip you have planned.

1. Comfortable Clothing To Wear On The Plane or In The Car.

Because airplanes are cold and if you're like me, you cannot be comfortable enough in the car to fall asleep. So wear comfortable clothing, you can at least control that part of getting cozy.

2. SNACKS!!!!!!!!!

Who is always broke and hungry??? ME. Bring your own snacks along so you don't spend a million dollars at the airport. I hate of expensive a coffee and a bagel come out to be, but your girl needs her caffeine.

3. Some Type of Entertainment

Whether that would include a movie, a book, a magazine, etc. If you get stuck waiting between flights (unless you have to run to make your connection, I am so sorry, I feel the pain) then at least you have something to do while you wait around on the airport floor.

4. Charging Cords Of Course

How are you supposed to watch movies or play that game on your phone if it dies because you forgot charging cords?? Then you're bored again. So don't forget them.

5. A Jacket or Blanket

Now, I always get cold. It's who I am. But airplanes are freezing flying machines. If you get cold I highly recommend bringing something like these to stay warm.

6. Headphones

Again, for all your entertainment purposes. Nobody really wants to hear you watch 'Frozen' for the six thousandth time, even if you can recite the whole thing by heart.

7. Medicine

You never know what could happen during a long day of travel, you could eat something bad or get a terrible migraine. Stuff happens. So just be prepared and pack some Tums and some Advil. If you get motion sickness try Dramamine. It works wonders.

8. Hand Sanitizer

People are disgusting. People travel when they are sick. People don't wash their hands. People. Are. Gross. Don't catch a cold or become ill on your trip because someone else decided to infect the world. Bring hand sanitizer and keep an eye out for the sick people.

9. A Back Pack/Book Bag

You need a way to carry all of this fantastic (and useful) stuff!!! Depending on how much you bring can affect which bag you bring also. If you aren't bringing much, maybe try a fanny pack. If you plan on bringing your whole house, try a back pack!

10. Enjoy Your Trip

Although traveling can be a pain in the rear end, be sure to take some time to relax and enjoy your trip. Wherever you go. Everyone deserves a little relaxation, especially after traveling.

Until next time,

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
