10 Items You Find In A College Students Backpack

The day to day life of a college student can be fast-paced. College can be described as a place full of surprises and a new day is filled with new challenges. Some days college can be refreshing while on other days, it can honestly be scary. With college students always being on the go, and the way how college life can be full of surprises, students carry many items in their backpacks. Since each student is different, what is inside the backpack can vary, but here are 10 common items you find in a college students backpack:

Laptop

Whether if the class requires a laptop or not, having this device will help a college student out. Instead of going to a university owned computer, students can plop anywhere on campus, and complete their homework. Also, it is a good way to surf the web when free time is available and a quick way to answer any emails.

Gum and mints

Perhaps the smallest item in this list, gum is often not seen as an essential. However, gum can help students pay attention in class and be more focused. Also, gum can also start friendships. Like the say, sharing is caring, and with gum people can be friendly and start to make friends by sharing gum.

Textbooks

Perhaps one of the most heaviest items that take up the college students bag, the textbook is carried as a means to study before a class or used during a class activity. However, each textbook vary in size from a normal sized book to a monstrous size.

Reusable water bottle

It is always essential to stay hydrated, and throughout the day, especially while in classes college students will become thirsty. Thus, reusable water bottles help quench the thirst. Instead of having to get up to get a drink of water, reusable water bottles saves you that trip.

Planner

The planner is what students use to keep organized. From important due dates of assignments to the times and location each class start, the planner is very important to have while on the go.

binders and folders

With all of those papers that a professor may give you, it is important to have that stored in a safe spot. Thus, folders and binders become an essential for those who are in college.

phone and laptop chargers

Throughout the day, laptops and phones will start to lose its battery, and it is important to have it working properly all the time. We would hate for it to die while it is being used. So, many college students carry their chargers with them around campus so they can recharge whenever the time is necessary.

sunglasses and hats in the warmer months

Besides academic items, fashionable items can also be found in college student backpacks. College students can look fashionable in the summer with baseball caps or with sunglasses, and can store it in their bags while in class.

beanies and scarves in the colder months

College students can look fashionable and stay warm, and when inside these accessories can be stored in their bags. Throw on a beanie or a scarf while walking to and from classes to be successful and fashionable.

snacks to get through the day

Hunger is a big problem while in class, and you don't have to wait until lunch or dinnertime to have a meal. Instead, college students pack snacks and other food items that can help them get through their classes.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
