Music is such a big deal in this day and age, but we like songs because it has a nice beat, and not everyone listens to the words they are saying within the songs. Songs have inspiration in them, and if you stop caring about a cool beat and listen to the words, you may be inspired.

1. "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato.

"You can take everything I have / You can break everything I am / Like I'm made of glass / Like I'm made of paper / Go on and try to tear me down / I will be rising from the ground Like a skyscraper"

This song is for anyone who tries to tear you down and it's for the strength that you have in you.

2. "Battle Scars" by Paradise Fears.

"I'll carry you home. / No, you're not alone. / Keep marching on, / This is worth fighting for, / You know we've all got battle scars. / You've had enough, / But just don't give up. / Stick to your guns, / You are worth fighting for. / You know we've all got battle scars. / Keep marching on. "

Not the most well-known band, but they are a personal favorite and this song means so much to me. We've all got scars and troubles in our lives, and it's about working through it and accepting it.

3. "Life Is Worth Living" by Justin Bieber.

"When I thought it was over / God sent us an angel to help us out / He gave us direction, showed us how to make it last / For that long journey ahead / Said it ain't ever over / Oh, even in the midst of doubt / Life is worth living / Life is worth living, so live another day / The meaning of forgiveness / People make mistakes, doesn't mean you have to give in / Life is worth living again / Life is worth living again"

When you don't feel worth it and that you don't feel like life is worth it, this song shows you how life is worth it and you are worth it.

4. "Ours" by Taylor Swift

"Don't you worry your pretty little mind, People throw rocks at things that shine. "

Everyone goes through hate and gets words thrown at them, but those words and hate make a person shine brighter.

5. "Who Says" by Selena Gomez

"Who says / Who says you're not perfect / Who says you're not worth it / Who says you're the only one that's hurting / Trust me / That's the price of beauty / Who says you're not pretty / Who says you're not beautiful / Who says "

Don't Let anyone tell you that you aren't pretty or that you aren't worthy because you are.

6. "Play On" by Carrie Underwood

"Play on when you're losing the game / Play on 'cause you're gonna make mistakes / It's always worth the sacrifice / Even when you think you're wrong / So play on / Even through a storm on the darkest night / Don't you ever give up the fight / Even when you feel you're all alone. "

Just keep going even when you feel like everything is wrong, keep going.

7. "Wrong Baby Wrong" by Martina McBride

"Come on now / Everyone falls down / Everyone crawls now and then / Then they get up again / You cry if you want to / That's what we all do / But if you think you'll never move on you're wrong baby wrong. "

This song is technically a breakup song, but it's just realizing that you are going to be OK without that person in your life.

8. "Stand Down" by Little Mix

"Now I'm done with all your negativity / And I'm gonna let it wash all over me / I'll be stronger than your words, / baby, I'm harder / My smile lights up the world, / I'm flyin' higher / So stand down"

You are stronger and better than anyone who tries to bring you down.

9. "Masterpiece" by Andy Grammer

"This is your masterpiece, / don't forget to dream / And taste the colors in the air you breathe / It's your masterpiece, go ahead and fill it all / Don't stop til it is beautiful. "

It's your life so make it how you want and not how others want it.

10. "Nobody's Perfect" by Hannah Montana

"Nobody's Perfect / I gotta work it / Again and again 'til I get it right / Nobody's Perfect / You live and you learn it / And if I mess it up sometimes / Nobody's perfect."

In honor of the 10-year anniversary of Hannah Montana, here is some lyrics from her.

Don't let others tear you down and always be yourself, because you are lovely just the way you are.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
