It's about that time. Spring break is nearing and you want to do something fun but your wallet says otherwise. We all want to escape the cold and kick it by a beach, but sometimes that isn't much of an option. Especially as college students, our paychecks are dedicated mostly to school or groceries with little left over for fun. That being said, here are some ideas to occupy your spring break time spent in the mitten!
1. See a movie at the IMAX.
There are several IMAX theater locations throughout the state. Grab some snacks and a few good friends and go see the latest comedy, drama or thriller on the big screen with the ultimate movie experience.
2. Go play a game of racquetball.
Since the weather won't allow for much athletic time outside, a competitive game of racquetball is a great indoor option. If you can get enough people together, you could make a fun tournament out of it!
3. Visit the Detroit Institute of Arts.
If you've never been to the DIA before it is a must! There are tons of fascinating pieces of art work to see and several great restaurants nearby. Another plus, residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb county get free admission!

5. Go to a concert or comedy show.
There is always some type of show going on at fantastic venues such as DTE, Fox Theatre, The Filmore, St. Andrews Hall and more!
6. Spend the day/night at an indoor water park.

Located in Clinton Township, candy and chocolate lovers can enjoy a tour of the factory and purchase some delicious sweets made right here in Michigan!

Here you can spend the day playing games or watching sports games in luxury while enjoying cocktails with friends.
9. Enjoy a night out at Punch Bowl Social.
