Being a college student, winter break is a MUST. There are so many pros of being home, but you will start to miss college even if you hate to admit it.

1. Having your car.

This mostly applies to freshman, but not having your car on campus is so frustrating because you always feel trapped. Being able to have the ability to go wherever when you're home is the best feeling.

2. Home cooked meals.

Good bye dining hall food, hello Mom's homemade lasagna.

3. Your own bed.

That moment when you realize how you don't know how you survive in a twin bed and are so overwhelmed with space and comfiness.

4. Working.

This part sucks, but if you're anything like me you blew through all your money first semester so you're left with no choice so, get ready to go back to your summer job.

5. Seeing friends.

Although you love all the new college friends you made, it's great hanging out with home town friends. There's so much to catch up on and as a plus you can catch up at your favorite restaurant from back home!

6. Local coffee shops.

Because let's admit it, the small Starbucks options my school has to offer is just not cutting it.

7. Christmas/ New Years.

AKA the best time of the year.

8. Having "me" time.

College is a crazy time with little to no time to relax. Being on break is awesome because you don't have to stress about anything regarding school and can just sit back and relax. So, put on that face mask and take a bubble bath; you deserve it.

9. Netflix and Hulu are all your life seems to consist of.

The amount of hours I have spent watching The Real House Wives of New Jersey is rather disgusting.

10. Just wanting to go back to college.

Being on break is all fun and games, but if you love your school, you'll start to miss it immediately. Especially your friends.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
