The fourth of July is a holiday that is well known and filled to the brim with festivities. While there are many traditions out there and each family celebrates a different way, here are 10 traditions that we can never be too thankful for come Fourth of July.

1. Juicy Watermelon

Watermelon tastes the absolute best at this point of the year; there's no way to deny that.

2. Time by the Water

Whether it's cruising on the lake in a boat or swimming in the pool, water on the fourth is a must.

3. Family Time

Practically everything is closed on this day (3.5 The Day Off!), so gathering with family, small or large, is quite simple to put together.

4. BBQ

Ah, the good ol' fashion barbecue. What's there not to love about the smell of something cooking on the grill when you're out swimming?

5. Sparklers

These up-close non-explosive fireworks are so pretty at any time of day!

6. Our Founding Fathers

THEY ARE THE REASON FOR THIS DAY. If it weren't for them adopting the Declaration of Independence, we would not be here right now. #AmIRight

7. Fire Pits

Ending the fourth with a good s'more is not such a terrible thing, now is it?

8. Snaps

These things are amazing, and I thank the genius who invented them greatly. They are kid friendly (no fire), and parent approved because their young ones can be tucked into bed before the big ka-booms and still have their share of fun. Plus, they are relatively inexpensive.

9. Fireworks

What's Fourth of July without fireworks?! They're super pretty, and super fun. Stadiums, amusement parks, and places of the like usually put on a spectacular show if you don't want to launch them yourself (or are too broke to buy an abundance of fireworks!).

**DISCLAIMER: Be aware of our doggie friends and kiddos. Nurture them and love them because these can be terrifying to them!**

10. Our Independence

I think this is the most important value behind the fourth. Many of us take this privilege we have for granted, and that's so unfortunate to me because we can lose this at any moment. Embrace your freedom and thank the right people for it.

There's 10 of the many things we can never be too thankful for come Fourth of July. Be safe, be smart, and remember to be grateful!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
