As exciting as they are, first dates are always nerve-wracking.

Luckily, you can do some prep work by picking the perfect outfit, choosing a comfortable venue and getting your conversation starters ready, but you can only control so much once the date actually begins. And one of the most classic first-date faux pas is choosing a food that could stick in your teeth or stain your clothes.

To help you avoid this dilemma, here are the foods you might want to avoid on your date:

1. Spaghetti

2. Sushi

There's just no graceful way of going about this: either you struggle to fit one whole sushi piece in your mouth, or you bite it in half and watch the remains crumble.

3. Burrito

All it takes is one bite for the thing to begin to unravel- and the more you eat, the harder it comes to keep together.

4. Salad (or for that matter, spinach)

Everyone knows a first date nightmare is getting green stuff stuck in your teeth.

5. Oreos

The cookie part or Oreos seems to be a champion at working its way into all the nooks and crannies of your pearly whites.

6. Ribs

As a notoriously messy food, you're bound to get your mouth, nose and hands covered in BBQ sauce.

7. Wings

Similarly to ribs, this saucy dish is a sure fire way to making a mess.

8. Lobster

It can be super difficult to crack, and while your bib may shield you, it won't protect your date sitting in the splash zone right across from you.

9. Jelly Donuts

Between the powdered sugar and jelly filling, you're putting your clean face and clean clothes on the line.

10. Poppy Seed Bagel

Unless you have floss on standby, those pesky little seeds are near impossible to get out of your teeth.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
