Wardrobe malfunctions are a daily mishap no one wants to have. Whether it be a run in your hosiery or a near nip slip, these are things all women try their best to avoid. Sometimes, the solutions are right in front of you, but usually for sale at an obnoxious price. However, I have a few hacks and tricks up my sleeve you need to try to save some money and save your clothes.

1. The hairband beltloop

This is my all-time favorite hack that I’m constantly using. It feels like belts and belt loops just don’t add up. It’s that thing when the end of your belt just barely misses the next loop, leaving your belt to flop all over the place. The simple solution lies within a hair band.

Just loop the band around the belt until it’s tight and adjust where the end of the belt is and tuck it in. The best way to execute this hack is to use a similar color hair band, and no one will notice the difference.

2. Fashion Tape

If you haven’t heard of fashion tape, I’m about to rock your world. It’s basically double-sided tape that adheres to clothing/skin really well. If the buttons on your shirt are coming apart, use fashion tape to stick the two pieces of clothing together. If your neckline is plunging, tape the clothing to your chest so you keep “the girls” in their place. Any way you tape it, you’re sure to get a lot of use from it.

My favorite brand is the Hollywood Fashion Tape (as seen above) because it seems to last all night, even though all the dancing and sweating, plus its small shape is perfect for on-the-go usage!

3. Duct tape lint roller

At home in Arizona, I have two Golden Retriever dogs that I love with all my heart – that is, until I keep finding their fur all over my clothes, even when I’ve gone back to school in Washington. I never see the need to have an actual lint roller because I don’t actually have any dogs, so I’d only use it every once in a while. However, when I do find their fur on me, the easiest, cheapest way to get rid of all that fluff is to just use duct tape – or any kind of tape for that matter! Just take a strip and wax away that fur and lint.

4. The Strap Perfect

This bad boy was – and still is – my favorite gadget that’s usually pretty cheap. No one wants bra straps to show from underneath their tank top. So, strap perfect came to the rescue with an easy way to tie back your straps and hide them!

This concept came out a while ago, and bra manufacturers like Victoria’s Secret have evolved and developed their bras to be able to hook without the help of the strap perfect. However, if you still have bras from the olden days, like me, then these are perfect for concealing the straps.

5. Straw necklace

Now, when I say straw necklaces, I don’t mean the little macaroni necklaces you probably made for your parents back in kindergarten. I mean the helpful way to travel with your necklaces without getting them tangled. Like the picture shows, just put the chain through and straw (bendy straws are my favorite because they’re somewhat malleable) and link together! No frustrating knots to get out, just cute necklaces and fun drinkware.

6. No-run tights

My biggest pet peeve is when you try your hardest to be careful with your tights and they just end up running anyway. Something that will help the durability and lower the probability of your tights snagging is hairspray. Yup, this common hair product found in almost every girl’s bathroom cabinet is the key to saving your hosiery. Just spray your tights with a light coat of any hairspray, and you’re good to go. The reason why this works is that the hairspray makes the fibers stick together and harden, creating more durable tights.

7. No wrinkles, no heat

If you’re like me, you’re always on the go and never have time to iron your wrinkled shirts. I also never get up early enough to do so, because you bet I’m going to get the maximum amount of sleep before work! The simple solution is to hang up your wrinkled item, and just spray it with water. Spray the clothing item until it’s somewhat damp, and hang it up to dry by a fan, or by itself; whichever way it will dry easiest in your home.

I would suggest doing this the night before, so it has ample time to dry. Another quick tip is to go get the Magic Wrinkle Remover. I would apply about the same amount as the water, leave it overnight to dry, and then you wake up with a wrinkle-free shirt

8. Dryer feets

It may be a little embarrassing to say you have stinky feet, but hey it happens to the best of us! You could always go the old route and get a deodorizing foot spray, but depending on the brand, they can get pretty pricey. Instead, you might as well use something you probably have a surplus of in your home: dryer sheets!

Yup, these lavender-smelling sheets are perfect to de-stink your shoes with little cost. The best part is that you can get a generic brand of dryer sheets and they’ll do the same handy work, as opposed to a generic brand foot spray not working at all. If you’re really looking for an extra helper, you can add baking soda in the dryer sheets as well.

9. No socks, no problem

If you’ve read my previous articles, you’ll know that sheer, fashion socks are making a comeback. However, not all stores are on this trend quite yet, and I’m looking for a solution, pronto. I found that tights tend to have the perfect thin and sheer look with exciting patterns on them.

So why not make them into socks? Any old tights work, or there are cheap ones at places like Target and Walmart. Just cut the foot to any length, whether it be tall or short, and voila! You've got a brand new pair of socks.

10. Shaving clothes

Ladies, you’ve probably shaved your legs at some point in your life by now, but have you shaved your pants? Or your couches or sweaters? If not, I have the perfect pilling solution for you. If you’re not familiar with the world “pilling” it’s that thing when your clothing/furniture gets those little balls of lint and fabric on the surface. There are actual gadgets used for the de pilling process, like the below photo shown above from Bed, Bath and Beyond (Gleener The Ultimate Fuzz Remover Kit for $20).

However, if you’re looking to be a savvy spender and not spend an excess amount, just use a generic razor to shave off those pesky pills. Lightly go over any surface and they should come off, however, be very careful with sweaters, as we don’t want any unnecessary holes!

So from one fashion hacker to another, use these tips for the best outfit results.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
