People who claim that fall isn't one of their favorite seasons obviously haven't experienced fall at the University of Kentucky. Whether it's rooting for the cats in Kroger Stadium (will always be Commonwealth to us) with a hot chocolate in your hand, placing bets at Keeneland or simply walking to the library looking at all the leaves lining the paths leading to Willy T's big red columns – there's nothing better than fall in Lexington, KY.

The 10 best things about fall for University of Kentucky students:

1. The clothes

Because for girls there's nothing better than throwing on leggings and a sweatshirt for class. And for you boys, bring out the sweatpants.

2. The food

I could almost guarantee 98% of the people in the Willy T Starbucks line are ordering a pumpkin spice latte or their favorite seasonal drink that reappeared on the menu. People are passing out Halloween candy. The 90 has apple and pumpkin pie, that's enough to justify a meal swipe.

3. The scenery

Whether you're walking to Willy T or just hanging outside of Whitehall, the orange and red leaves make those long stressful days a little less painful.

4. Cheesy trips to pumpkin patches

For our inner basic sorority girls, that sisterhood trip to the pumpkin patch is well worth an Instagram feed filled with girls perfectly posed with their pumpkins. Did you even go to the pumpkin patch if you didn't post a pic of it?

5. Halloween

Halloween date parties. Halloween frat parties. Halloween movie marathons with your friends. How many variations of a scandalous black cat will we see this year?

6. You are that much closer to many breaks from school

Thanksgiving break and Winter break are just around the corner.

7. Caturdays

This sacred day needs no explanation, but there is truly nothing better than cheering on the cats in the fall. Whether it be a home or away game, let the celebrations begin. Where the cheering from our fans is as strong as our bourbon.

8. Football in general

Football season in itself is something to be cherished. I may not understand half of the calls but I understand that there's buffalo chicken dip and wings so we're all winning, aren't we?

9. Keeneland

You can't consider yourself a true University of Kentucky student until you've gone to a Friday or Saturday of the Keeneland fall meet. You don't even need to see a horse to be part of the experience.

10. Getting to spend another season at the University of Kentucky

Need I say more?

BBN baby.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
