Summer is a beautiful season, but not for our hair. The hot temperatures, sunny skies and humidity will make any girl want to put her hair in a basic ponytail. If you need some new ideas on how to style your hair this summer than go ahead and try these super easy hairstyles that can be done on short or long hair. All you need is a hair tie, bobby pins or a headband.

The Side-Braided Ponytail: This hairstyle has more style than your normal ponytail. Grab two small sections of hair from the left and right side of your head and braid them halfway. Once they are both braided gather both sides and the rest of your hair into a ponytail.

The “Lob”: If you want to go low-maintenance and prefer to wake-up and do nothing to your hair, then the short hairstyle is a great option. Ask for long layers and a piecey texture in order to get the “lob,” which means it’s a longer hairstyle than a bob.

The Half-Braided Ponytails:

This hairstyle is daring and unique and will make people turn their heads. Part your hair in the middle and separate two sections. French braid each section and tie the braid once it stops touching your head.

The (Fishtail) Ponytail:

I love the fishtail braid because it looks different from the usual 3-strand braid. Make a high ponytail and secure it with a hair tie then section your hair in two parts. Take a small piece from one section and cross it under the opposite section of hair and then do the same thing to the other section of hair. Repeat the steps until you reach the bottom of your hair and secure with a small hair tie. If you're new to the fishtail braid, watch this youtube video.

Bun with a Funky Headband:

Pull your hair into a tight top bun and to top it off put on either a lacey, jeweled, or big headband.

Bohemian Messy Braided Bun:

Separate 3 sections of your hair. One small section from each side of your ears (like the photo to the left). The big section from the back of your head needs to be in a low messy bun and secured with either a hair tie or bobby pins. Then braid both side sections and bring them back to your bun, you will have to cross one over the other and also secure with bobby pins.

The Polished Bun:

This bun will end any outfit with a more polished look. To make the bun appear fuller you can buy a Bun Maker. Flip your hair downwards and brush your hair to make sure you don't have too many bumps and then tie your hair in a high ponytail. Grab your hair and twist it one way around the start of the ponytail. Then Secure the bun with bobby pins.

The Braid Halfway:

This hairstyle is too easy. Grab a section from both sides of your head (from the front or your ears) and braid them to the back and secure with bobby pins. Ta-daa! That was easy.

Half-Up Half-Down Bun Hairstyle:

Actually this hairstyle probably takes less time to create than the one above. Take half your hair and put in a messy low bun behind your head like Ashley Tisdale rocks in the photo.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
