With the primaries showing a disturbing trend of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump winning state after state, it’s become apparent we need to start considering our options of other countries to live in. For some reason, there are people who actually want Clinton or Trump as president. The country has gone mad. The 10 countries listed come from a top 20 countries to live in based on U.S. News & World Report rankings. The countries are all on the other side of the world, in the Eastern Hemisphere. Nowhere near America and the unfortunate and inevitable Clinton-Trump match that is about to happen. So here are 10 countries that don’t have anyone named Clinton or Trump living in them or running for president that are inhabitable.

1. Germany

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 1

Sure, Germany’s past is kind of shady since they were on the wrong side of a couple world wars, but it’s not like America hasn’t done some heinous stuff in its past either. Its economy is in good shape too. Plus, Germany has Oktoberfest, need I say more?

2. Japan

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 7

Japan is ahead of the world in everything technological. It has a lot of cool history, and beautiful places to see. Japan also has a solid economy.

3. France

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 8

The city of love. The Eiffel Tower. Baguettes. Putting aside the terrorism that has happened within the last year or two in France, it’s not a bad place to live.

4. New Zealand

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 11

The country everyone seems to forget about, but still an amazing country. It’s a neutral country in terms of global affairs, which is nice. People who live in New Zealand are called Kiwis. Who wouldn’t want to be called a Kiwi? And the Lord of the Rings movies were filmed there.

5. Austria

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 12

Austria was born out of Germany after World War II. Many famous classical musicians have lived there at one point or another.

6. Italy

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 13

Do I have to explain? The wine, the cheese, food, the everything? There is so much culture and history in Italy. Milan has the fashion. The Vatican. The Coliseum. The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Regattas. There is so much going on in Italy.

7. Luxembourg

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 14

It’s literally a tiny dot on the European map. It’s also the second wealthiest country in the world. There are real castles and rolling green hills. It’s a fairy tale country.

8. Singapore

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 15

One of the wealthiest countries in the world. Everyone there is rich. The technological advancement is just as strong as Japan’s. And it’s an island!

9. Spain

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 16

Just like Italy, it has a lot of culture and history. There’s the Running of the Bulls. The good food. Real Madrid. All solid stuff, especially the paella.

10. Ireland

U.S. News & World Report Ranking: No. 18

It’s beautiful country. And Ireland is the home to Guinness. There’s St. Patrick’s Day too. And they have castles. Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom, meaning travel to Scotland, Wales and England is a breeze.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
