Though some may say that NJ is the armpit of America, it actually is one of the best states (completely unbiased opinion) to live in. Summer in NJ is an experience like no other, and honestly, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Here are 10 things about New Jersey summers that cannot be beat.

1. The Jersey Shore

Whether you go to the shore for the day, a couple weeks, or the whole summer, you can't not go to the beach. Since it's pretty accessible from almost every part of the state, you are bound to see people you will know. Nothing beats fudge, ice cream, and mini golf.

2. Ice Cream

How can you go wrong with soft serve ice cream in a cone with sprinkles or homemade ice cream on a hot summer day or night... or both? At the shore you have Hoffman's, in Summit you have Magic Fountain, in Princeton you have Bent Spoon, the list goes on and on.

3. Amusement Parks

You've got countless boardwalks with rides, Fantasy Island in LBI, and who can forget Six Flags with the world famous Kingda Ka. Needless to say, you'll never be bored and will have no shortage of thrill.

4. The Sunsets

Nothing beats New Jersey sunsets. No matter where you are, you can throw on that X-tra Large sweatshirt, some shorts, and sit outside with your friends and family to watch literal magic.

5. Breakfast Sandwiches

You've never had a bacon, egg, and cheese unless you've gotten one in NJ. The debate between what to call pork roll or Taylor Ham between South Jersey (pork roll) and North Jersey (Taylor Ham), will never be resolved.

6. Farmer's Markets

I'll just leave it at this: we aren't called the Garden State for no reason.

7. Golf

With countless public and private golf courses around the state, you will start to appreciate the game of golf. Whether you play for fun or to actually play, your inner, preppy golfer will completely emerge. Don't forget to drink an Arnold Palmer while playing 18.

8. Concerts

One of the most beautiful things about summer in New Jersey is the PNC Banks Arts Center. This is a place to hangout with friends considering that tickets can be as cheap as $30 for lawn seats. Some of the biggest artists stop by this venue, and can make your summer night that much more enjoyable.

9. Being able to go on day trips

If you're from North Jersey, take a trip to New York City. If you're from South Jersey, take a trip to Philly. Everyone can take a trip to the shore, and there are tons of hiking trails and areas to explore.

10. Traffic **

I lied.... This is probably one of the worst things about New Jersey. A lot of people commute to NYC, so rush hour traffic is horrible. And then don't even try and go to or from the shore without hitting traffic, even at obscure hours of the morning or night.

Come visit... I promise you won't regret it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
