Having been through high school, I know all too well about having bad days. Luckily for me, I have an amazing momma to help talk me through things with me and pray over me.
These songs are some of the ones my mom showed me in my rough times. They are near and dear to my heart. I hope they can help you like they did for me.
1. "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe
This song has been my favorite gospel song since I was about 10. My grandpa used to sing this to all the time. He absolutely loves it, and so do it. I can't help but smile every time I listen to it.
This song reminds me of what is to come, what's waiting for me. Even when I am having the worst day, I can listen to this and know that I will someday meet Jesus and all my pain and sorrow will be gone. I know there is a day coming when I will see Him face-to-face and finally feel free. This song helps me get through my earthly troubles. I become overwhelmed with joy and happiness thinking about meeting Him. My day is instantly made better!
2. "You Say" by Lauren Daigle
This song is for every girl, boy, woman, man, child that is facing self-worth battles. Lauren Daigle reminds us of who we are in Christ, not who we are to others. Jesus says we are strong, beautiful, and known by Him.
We are not the product of other peoples' opinions - we are the product of God's handiwork. This song never fails to make me feel better when I am feeling alone or when I feel like I am not enough.
3. "O Come to the Alter" by Elevation Worship
Grab your tissues. THIS SONG!! This is my go to song when I feel lost and broken. I am reminded that no matter how far I run from Christ into the darkness, His grace and mercy still surrounds me. There is no where that His love does not go. I know that I can run to His open arms and feel safe and loved. I can't help but cry when I hear this song. I makes me so thankful and grateful to have a God that loves me so much to care that much for me.
