Many of us here at Virginia Tech are unaware of, or sheltered from, the problem of hunger that many Americans face. Community Associate AmeriCorps VISTA, Amanda Qadado, through VT Engage created an initiative to get more people in the community to fight back against this issue and volunteer their time.
While there are many opportunities to help, here are just a few:
Feeding America:Â I know from experience you will leave this place pumped up and eager to help again. At the building in Roanoke you will sort or prepare boxes full of food to be sent out to food banks in southwest Virginia.
Micah's Backpack:Â Bags are packed for local school children who would not otherwise have food over the weekend.
Many of these opportunities have already been shared with be through Chi Delta Alpha and I would highly recommend trying out or all of them out.

Get involved today, you won't regret it!Â
