Ten Essentials for the Perfect Homecoming Weekend Tailgate

1. Coffee or some form of caffeine. The only way to start a good tailgate is early.

2. A keg of your favorite beer and the largest cooler you can find. Bonus points if said cooler is painted.

3. The perfect outfit. There’s nothing better than a blend of clothing items that show off your Villanova pride and those trendy, must have fall items that we have all stocked up on.

4. Red solo cups and pong balls.

5. Hard alcohol, because what's better than shots with those kind of random kids you once knew and are bound to run into again.

6. The perfect Instagram filter for all the, “reunited and it feels so good” and, “back in action,” type instas that will appear.

7. Good snacks to keep the buzz going longer before the blackout sets in.

8. The perfect playlist. What’s better than setting the good-time mood with the perfect tunes, and perhaps a group rendition of “Wagon Wheel” with old friends.

9. Advil. Day drinking kills even the best of us, and everyone needs to be ready to rally to go out again Saturday night.

10. Those best friends that technically graduated in recent years, but not really because they are still back all the time. #wildcatsforever

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
