With move-in day right around the corner, you're probably wondering how to make your dorm or apartment as cute and cozy as you've been imagining.

These eight easy craft ideas will help you create a space that makes you feel at home, whether you're watching a movie with your roommates or doing some late night studying.

1. Personalized Mugs

What you need: a plain mug and Sharpie metallic paint marker

A handcrafted mug is adorable and easy to make! All you have to do is create your own design using a paint marker, which is easy to find at a craft store or even target, and then bake your mug at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. These are perfect gifts for your roommates on move-in day.

2. Door Sign

What you need: door sign, paint, etc.

This simple craft is the perfect way to brighten up a drab door. You can create this one with a wooden door sign, which can be found at any craft store, or even a small chalkboard.

3. Mason Jar Vases

What you need: mason jars (or any type of jar), glue, paint, glitter, etc.

There are a million different ways to decorate mason jars on pinterest! I attemped one idea by covering the inside of a jar with a mixture of glue and water and then pouring in glitter. After covering the inside of the jar with glitter and letting it dry, I added some artificial flowers. This turned out to be a cute accent for any desk or table!

4. Picture Collage

What you need: Pictures and sticky tack

There are endless possibilities when it comes to decorating your room, but one of the most important things to have is plenty of pictures. Whether you're a freshman or a senior, a collage of your favorite memories is key to making your room feel like home.

5. Inspirational Canvas

What you need: A canvas, paint, glitter, etc.

Still feeling like your walls are too empty? An inspirational canvas is a great way to add a personal touch and your favorite quote to your room. I made one with that had one of my favorite quotes: "Not all those who wander are lost" by J. R. R. Tolkien.

6. Decorative String Lights

What you need: a strand of string lights and ping pong balls

To jazz up your average strand of string lights, cut a small X into a ping pong ball and put one on each light. Drape them over your bed or window for a warm and cozy effect.

7. Letters

What you need: wooden letters, paint, rhinestones, glitter, etc.

No room is complete without your greek letters (or your initials)! If you want something glam, try painting your letters white and then gluing rhinestones on them. A friend of mine did this for her future little, and it turned out to be absolutely adorable. Covering your letters with flowers can also be really pretty! However, if rhinestones and flowers aren't your thing, simply painting your letters to compliment the rest of your dorm decor is just as cute!

8. Hometown Art

What you need: a canvas, glue, stencil of your home state

First, paint your canvas however you like. After that, either paint your home state or cut it out of glitter paper and glue it on the canvas. You can even add a little heart where your hometown is located for an even more personal touch.

Happy decorating!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
