Dear Dad,
Thank you for always being there for me. I can't remember a time when you weren't there to offer a shoulder to cry on or a lap to sit on.Â
Thank you for being a role model. I hope to be as good of a person as you one day. I hope to see the good in everyone like you do one day.
Thank you for helping me with math when I was younger, and for dealing with the cries and tears that came along with it.Â
Thank you for pushing me to be my best. You always believe in me, but even if I fail at something, you are always there to tell me that everything will be okay.Â
Thank you for always being the "funny one" in the family, and never taking anything too seriously. Your dancing outbursts couldn't be more entertaining.Â
Thank you for being so proud that I am attending Carolina. It makes me so happy that you wear a Carolina shirt at least once a week, and how you can't help but brag to strangers that I'm at UNC.
Thank you for being the hardest working person I know. You're 63 years old, yet you work harder than most 40-year olds. I know all of your employees respect your leadership, dedication, and the fact that you work six days a week.
Thank you for teaching me how to drive a golf cart, a lawn mower, a tractor, a car, and a boat.  And thanks for making sure I was actually good at it before you let me drive on my own.Â
Thank you for impressing the values of family and hard work onto me and my brothers.
Thank you for being the dad that everyone wants to have.
With infinite love,
Lacey
