Over the past two weeks, many hot news topics have spread like wildfire across the web! Some of those topics involve entertainment, health concerns, controversy, inspiration, and shock. Taylor Swift vs. Apple

What is this about?

Taylor Swift is ready to rock after making Apple realize that it is unfair to stream songs during their three month free-trial of Apple Music without paying any royalties to artists. Taylor Swift, like many artists, is concerned with the impact that music streaming is having on the music industry. She feels that artists won't be fairly compensated for their work. Swift says, "This is simply the first time it's felt right in [her] gut to stream [her] album. Thank you, Apple, for your change of heart."

Why is it important?

For the first time since Taylor Swift's album "1989" was removed from music streaming companies such as Spotify, we will get to listen to it without purchasing a download! This is awesome for all of the "Swifties" in the world. The new Apple Music streaming service will be an awesome addition to the company's lineup of apps.

Social media has blown up with posts about the removal of the confederate flag. The debate over whether the flag should or should not be removed has turned into a big racial controversy.

Why is this important?

The main reason this is important, is the controversy that comes along with all of the debates. Many states are choosing to remove the flags. However, there are still some who continue to fly the flag.

After nine people were shot and killed at a church in Charleston, South Carolina, hundreds of citizens gathered a block from Mother Emanuel church for a prayer and worship service. Obama Shocks Americans By Using the "N-word"

What is this about?

During an interview about racism in America, Obama shocked many people with his use of the "N-word." Many believe that it is inappropriate for someone of such high authority in our country to use a word that is considered highly offensive. I'll let you form your own opinion on that.

Why is this important?

In the midst of many racial issues currently facing America, the President of the United States uses the "N-word." This won't help solve the problems that America is facing today. For racism to truly be removed from our country, we all need to learn to love one another.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
