How To Enjoy A Date Party

It’s getting close to that time of year again: date party season.

For freshmen, this is an exciting time to see one of the many fun facets of being in a sorority. You get to dress up according to a fun theme and hang out with your sisters for an entire evening. There are some ways to ensure that you’ll have a great time, so here are a few tips on how to have the best date party experience.

Dress according to theme. Don’t be that person who just shows up in jeans and a t-shirt. Have fun with whatever theme your social chair chooses. Go all out, and put some creative effort into your costume. You can even go as far as putting together some ideas for what your date should wear. It will make the experience much more enjoyable. It also calls for taking tons of picture with your date and posting all over Instagram.

Be smart about who you take. The person whom you choose to take to your date party can really make or break the experience. Make sure you take someone who is equally as excited to go as you are. You don’t want to be there with someone who acts bored the entire time. Also, be open to who you take. It can be extremely fun to go with a person you know or have a crush on, but it can be equally as fun to go with a date someone in your house sets you up with.

Have a good time. Actively take part in the activities. Your social chair put in a lot of hard work to make the night fun for you, so make sure you stay in a good mood. Participate in activities and dance if there’s a DJ. Date parties are a great way to have a fun night.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
