The Greek community is a group of leaders, as evidenced by the amount of community service hours and higher GPAs compared to non-affiliated students. Â
The price of being a leader is having to deal with obstacles and challenges. It is part of the responsibility we take on as leaders in our respective communities. A good rule of thumb to being successful is that if you haven’t experience a challenge, there is more to do. This is the attitude of so many successful people. Many refer to this as being hungry, hungry for success. When you’re hungry, you have to eat.
Every challenge can be overcome, albeit some are more
difficult than others. With every surmounted challenge, we become stronger as
leaders and human beings. So why let a challenge overcome us? There is always a way to win, even multiple ways. The best leaders don’t
look for the easiest way out; they look for the best way to achieve their
goal. If we give up, we will never improve and all our prior hard work goes to waste. If you want to be the best, you have to outwork everyone
else. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
One phrase has always
stuck with me when I’m in a rough situation. I will do everything I can
possibly do, until I collapse. Period. Whether it’s a ruck march with my ROTC
battalion, or writing a 10-page paper, I will always work as hard as I can until
I, physically, can’t function. Find that way to finish what you start, and you'll find success.Â
