#WomenAgainstFeminism or #WomenAgainstWomen?

Now, before all of you conservative women take one look at the title of this article and skip over it, let me start with saying that I agree with you. Well, sort of.

#WomenAgainstFeminism or #WomenAgainstWomen?

Being a woman against feminism is a lot like being a teacher and hating children.

Feminism at its fundamental core has not changed, but the definition and application have been so skewed by leftist women that it has now become something that most conservative women hate. But we (conservative women) should not have to hate it.

Instead, we should be working together to move the feminist movement in the direction that it was once headed. The women that worked for our right to vote, our right to own property, and our right to be independent from our husbands would be so disappointed in the feminist movement now. Modern feminists have convinced themselves that men are the problem. Men are NOT the problem. Society as a whole, including women, is the problem.

Women are on opposite ends of the women’s rights spectrum, and because of that, nothing will ever improve. On one end, women are using feminism to validate wanting the right to abort, regardless of how far along the pregnancy is, and they are saying they should be treated better than men. These women have caused the opposite side to move even further away. Women on the right end of the political spectrum are now saying they would rather “make their man a sandwich” and that they are against “hairy legs and armpits” so they are antifeminist.

Come on Republican ladies, you are making it very difficult for me to agree with y’all on this one, even though I am as conservative as the next Jesus loving gal.

Feminism does not mean giving up your femininity. It does not mean wanting to be the exact same as men. It does not mean women should have the right to kill an innocent unborn child. It does not mean men are inferior and women are superior. Feminism means being proud to be a woman. It means believing that we are every bit as capable in the workplace as a man, and deserve the same amount of pay for doing the same job. And you can be certain that I can do it in four-inch stilettos.

Being a stay-at-home mother is not being anti-feminist. Being a stay at home mother is a privilege and is something a good majority of women would probably do given the opportunity. But in this current economy, that can be difficult for a lot of families to make happen. You can be a feminist and still take part in traditional gender norms. You can love to stay home with your kids and still support the women that have chosen to take a different path.

So how is being a woman in this age any different? What are you losing by women gaining equal treatment in the workplace? Feminists are not forcing you to take on traditionally male roles; they just want the option to be able to take a traditionally male role. By going against feminism, you are only hurting womankind as a whole. You gain nothing and you hinder the women that are striving for something.

So instead of each side fighting the other side, we, as women, should be working together to bring feminism back to something positive and constructive. Step away from the snide comments, and instead, stand hand-in-hand in the fight to end discrimination against women. Instead of bashing the opposite side’s beliefs, let’s try to show love to all and to prove to society that women deserve equal rights. We will never accomplish anything by spreading hatred via #WomenAgainstFeminsm.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
