Dealing With the Haters

People love to hate Ohio State.

This year, the expectations for the Buckeye football team are lower than in the past. With the injury of our starting quarterback, the weight of carrying the team might be too heavy for his replacement.

Watching your team lose is never fun, but it's even worse when there's a constant crowd of people telling you how happy they are that you lost. The bitterness of these same people are what make winning twice as awesome.

There are times when a fan might want to stop cheering so loud or wearing such obnoxious spirit wear, but these fans will not be found in Columbus. Win or lose, the most important part of a team is their fans. Loyalty and dedication to wear scarlet and gray with pride no matter what the score is. Our fans are unlike any other, rumored to be the best damn fans in the land.

This is what I love most about being a Buckeye. Nothing will keep our fans from showing off how much we love our team, no matter how much we're annoying you. I find that more often than not, those who relish in a Buckeye loss are usually fans of teams averaging two wins per season. When you choose to root on the Bucks, you're making a conscious decision to not care how much people may hate you.

A lot of pride can be taken in having true fans, and not having bandwagons as our major fan base. Sports mean so much to our culture as a school and is a huge reason most of us decided to attend college at The Ohio State University. We aren't fair weather fans. We aren't phased by tweets that every win in our 12 and 0 season was a fluke. You can call us overrated. If people didn't hate us so much, winning would only be half as great.

So please, keep on keeping on. There's nothing that can be said or done to stop us annoying you with how much we love our Buckeyes. What they probably don't know is how much entertainment we get from their resentment.

Oh, and go Bucks.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
