I woke up like dis. Taking a day off is OK. Drink a glass of wine and watch old episodes of "Friends," paint your nails and actually try to make them look good, download new music, take a nap without having to set an alarm. College students are busy, or so we think. However, slowing down is the most rewarding and relaxing feeling one can uphold. Lying in your bed for 20 minutes and doing absolutely nothing is necessary to avoid an often times unavoidable break down. Take and break and a breath and accept that taking a day off is so important.

Standing in the front yard, telling me how I'm such a fool.  Change is encouraged. After you bombed that Statistics exam you studied 36 hours straight for, don’t cry (or only cry for like 10 minutes), it’s gonna be alright. Get a tutor or start studying a week in advance, instead of pretending to be a super-human and staying up for 2 days straight. Sipping on iced vanilla coffees and writing 78 notecards didn’t help you, so change your studying routine and aim for an A on the next one.

Took forty-five minutes to get all dressed up and we ain't even gonna make it to this club. Stop pretending to be too cool. Head to the rink, go see a movie you’ve never heard of, try that hole-in-the-wall sub shop downtown, do your homework under the big tree outside. You don’t have to be slamming Jägerbombs to have a good night. Take advantage of your college town - believe it or not life exists outside of the bar scene and it’s actually pretty cool.

Perfection is a disease of a nation.  I don’t know when we all started convincing ourselves that eating one cupcake would result in waking up with a double chin. Treat yo’ self. Who cares if you ate 6 cinnamon rolls at breakfast this morning, workout or don’t go workout. If that cinnamon roll made you happy, smile with the icing still in your teeth. Stop being so hard on yourself and enjoy that damn cupcake, you deserve every last bite.

I love you like XO. Your sister: the girl you were born to befriend.  You could live 120 miles away, or a 15 minute walk down the block - regardless, don’t forget to show your love. Email her a picture you took on Photo Booth 8 months ago, remind her that just because you don’t text or call everyday doesn’t mean you aren’t thinking of or missing her everyday. She’s your go-to girl, your soul mate that you get to claim as family. Reminding her how much you appreciate her is easy and so necessary.

Diva is a female version of a hustler. Stop caring so much about what people think about you. Who cares if your crush doesn’t like you back, if the girl across the room is staring at your leather leggings, or if you fell down the stairs last night at your favorite fraternity? People are going to talk about you, look at you, and try to get at you for the rest of your life. [Who.Cares.] Don’t let some stranger talking about the $11.80 pair of leggings you got from Forever 21 ruin your Thirsty Thursday. You are a boss.

I’m a host of imperfection, and you see past all that. Stop living with so much regret. If you have $80 in your bank account and want to buy $67 worth of rings from Anthropologie, let it happen. We all get this concrete idea in our heads that there is only right and wrong. Totally, there are things in life that need to be taken seriously; however, not every decision you make is life or death, yes or no, good or bad. Save your over-analysis for your philosophy final. Do what your grandpa taught you in 3rd grade: follow your gut.

The 9 to 5 just to stay alive. There will be people you will always miss. Whether it is the heartbreak of your first love, the tragedy of your best friend moving out of state, or the loss of your baller dog Spot. The hurt will fade and those you lose will continuously stay a part of you. Even if you think your high school boyfriend defined your definition of the word "love," it's likely that you will both move on. Although there should be some medicine that grants eternal life for the insanely awesome people of the world, there isn’t. So hold on to what you have and know that you are not alone. Everyone misses someone.

We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see, it’s the soul that needs the surgery. Be honest with yourself. As easy as it is to convince yourself walking three flights to your room is a cardio workout, it isn’t. As simple as it is to convince yourself that your dad "knows" that you are thankful for him cooking dinner, he doesn’t. Telling yourself you can go out the night before your exam because it isn’t until 5 p.m. the next day might seem ok, but is it? Speak the truth to others: a lesson we are taught from the get-go. Don’t forget to speak the truth to yourself too.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
