Since Refrigerator Perry's touchdown in the Bear's blowout Super Bowl win against the Patriots, prop bets have become a core feature of Super Bowl traditions that range from office pool squares, sour cream french dip, lucrative halftime shows, high ticket prices, and high-quality commercials. A prop is a bet regarding the occurrence or nonoccurrence of something during game but many of these occurrences do not directly impact the game.
When you are a fan who doesn’t have a favorite team to root for, or you can’t decide to bet the Panthers, giving 5.5 points prop bets is the perfect alternative. During the Super Bowl, people marveled at the stunning play of the Broncos defense. People commented on how Peyton Manning tried to hand the Panthers the game. People are glued to the storyline of Cam Newton being human. However, many people in the sports book had their eyes glued on some of these prop bets. Many of these a prop bets are often ridiculous, but a lot of them are entertaining to keep track of. Some of these prop bets are so weird that they are worth keeping track of, even if you do not have any money wagered on it.
Over 4 billion dollars worth of wagers were bet on Super Bowl 50, and an estimated 1 billion of those were bet on prop bets, via the Las Vegas Gambling Association. So what did people win and lose on some of these ridiculous wagers?

5. Will there be an earthquake during the game? Odds 10/1
You may have to be insane to root for an earthquake during the Super Bowl. Even when the game is being played in Santa Clara, where it's known to frequent seismic activity, predicting an earthquake within a three hour time period is extremely far fetched. However, we have seen weird things happen during the big game. In 2012 the Superdome in New Orleans suffered a power outage during the third quarter of Super Bowl 46. If an earthquake were to happen, it would not be the first time an earthquake occurred during a sports championship game in the Bay; referencing the the Quake of the 1989 World Series between the A’s and Giants.
Result: During Sunday's Super Bowl there was not an earthquake recorded in the Santa Clara/San Francisco area. So the insane people who were hoping for an earthquake during the big game were not able to get the big payout they were hoping for.
