With this year's college football season underway, the long held tradition of tailgating is back in full swing.
From the mouth watering smell of barbecue food to country music blaring from a truck's speakers, tailgating brings a level of energy to the campus like none other. Here are some tips to make your tailgate the best in the SEC.
Food. As a member of the SEC, your tailgate cuisine should embrace the southern culture. For example, anything that is slathered with barbecue sauce or dunked in a fryer will fit the bill. If you do not have access to proper cooking equipment, have no fear. With fried chicken platters and custom-made sandwiches, Publix will ensure that you and your fellow tailgaters will never go hungry.
Music. If you want to have a traditional SEC tailgate, country music is the way to go. From Alan Jackson to Alabama, the sweet melody of country music will amplify your tailgate's atmosphere and subtly remind you why the SEC is the best conference in North America.
Games. A tailgate is not a tailgate without lawn games. From corn hole and ladder golf to sholf and Polish horseshoes, your guests will always find a way to entertain themselves.
Have a ratio. If you want to improve your fraternity's social standing, there is nothing that impresses a sorority more than a bunch of men who can put together an awesome tailgate. Try to create some hype and differentiate your tailgate from others.
Stay hydrated. Aside from your other beverages, make sure you supply an ample amount of water for your guests. With temperatures reaching well above 90 degrees in the notorious Swamp, it is a good idea to drink as much water as possible.
