Fall In Florida Bucket List

22

Fall is the most wonderful time of the year full of endless possibilities. Don't miss out on all that it has to offer!

Florida-Georgia: The Florida-Georgia football tailgate has been recognized as "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" in Jacksonville, Florida. The teams and their fans meet at EverBank Field for one of the biggest rivalry games for each school. This is one epic party that you will not want to miss.

Road trip: Road trips in general are really fun, but imagine a road trip of four or five buses per fraternity heading to an away game in a different state with all of your best friends. It really doesn't get much better than that. On road trips you choose a fraternity to go with and pay a price that's generally around $100-200, which includes your seat on the bus there and back, a hotel room, a bar tab for the game day and usually a shirt. What a steal!

Cheer on the Gators in the Swamp: There's nothing like cheering on your team on your field - especially when that field is the Swamp! The Gators are known for their crazy spirit and loud crowds cheering on our team and booing anyone else who dares enter without any orange or blue. With roughly 90,000 fans in our stadium, it makes for an unforgettable experience.

Gator Growl: Gator Growl is the largest student run pep rally in the world that happens every year before our homecoming game. It is easily one of the greatest traditions at the University of Florida. However, this year the tradition is slightly changing by moving its venue from the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to Flavet Field. Our entertainment for this year will include Ludacris, Foster the People and Brooks Wheelan.

Graffiti the 34th Street Wall: The wall on 34th street is hard to miss - it's full of colorful promotions, random graffiti and announcements for upcoming events. Although it is 100% legal to paint on this wall, it is still somehow really exciting and makes you feel like an instant rebel. Be sure to grab a can of spray paint and head over to make your mark.

Go to Satchel's Pizza: Satchel's is a true landmark in Gainesville, known for amazing pizza in an even more amazing environment. You may have already seen various Instagrams from the old Volkswagen van that they turned into an eclectic seating arrangement. They also have live music almost every night, so if you want to get your hipster on, this is definitely a place for you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
