Top Five Ways To Avoid Wearing
Real Clothes To Class

In a perfect world, pajamas and slippers would be totally acceptable for daily life but, sadly, we do not live in a perfect world. Here are some loopholes that will help you go to class in comfort until the day when Casual Friday is all the time.

If a class is before noon, then it qualifies as an early morning class. And in those wee hours after the break of day the last thing that’s on anyone’s mind is, “What should I wear?” This isn’t the case every day, of course. Everyone loves to not look like a slob, sometimes, but being casual is always a great choice. There are ways to appear put together when you are actually super comfortable and that, my friends, is the secret to getting dressed in college.

Here are the top five slob-approved, non-slob outfits.

1.  Jeggings + graphic t-shirt + flats

Jeggings are wonderful because they look like real clothes, even when they are as stretchy and comfortable as your favorite yoga pants. Pair them with a soft vintage-looking tee and a pair of soft leather flats and you are ready for whatever the day throws your way.

2. Slip dress + crew neck sweater + knee-high boots

Slip dresses are everywhere this season and they can be totally class-appropriate, while also doubling as a nightgown. Throw a casual sweater on top, though, to keep it from being too sexy. Then, add some riding-style boots and a long necklace to complete the ensemble and you’ll be the most stylish girl in Spanish 101.

3. Cargo pants + v-neck + sneakers

“I once saw Cady Herron wearing army pants and flip flops, so I bought army pants and flip flops.” Cargo pants tend to be made out of super soft -- and stretchy -- cotton so, they are a great way to avoid wearing something too stiff. With a v-neck and some Converse, the whole outfit reads cool and unfussy. A messy topknot is the perfect ‘do for this style.

4. Silky trousers + tank top + scarf + sandals

A silky sweat pant with a drawstring is as close to going pantless as you can get it. A loose tank, cute bralette, a colorful scarf, and sandals are a go-to for any day of the week! Look for pairs with tapered ankles, as they look more polished.

5. Flowy pants + ankle boots + oversized sweater

As far as flowy pants go, there are many options on the market, right now. Your best bet? Go for a wide-legged pair with a slightly higher waist. Throw on a boyfriend-style sweater that’s a similar color to the pant. A pair of ankle boots with a slight heel are the perfect final touch.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
