Yes, the sacred week is upon us and it's time to don whatever you consider to be a costume. Below are a few examples of what you can expect to see at just about any party you may plan on attending:

1. The "It"
This person thinks that they had a genius idea, and went to quite a few pains to put a costume together for the evening. However, no one has any idea what they are, and when you ask it takes them a minimum of five minutes to explain themselves. While the thought and effort seemed like a good idea at the time, your random character from a movie no one has seen in fifteen years or that pun you've been sitting on all year may not have been the way to go.

2.The Lackluster
Said Halloweiner has decided that this year they are going as the absolute bare minimum necessary for them to get away with saying that they dressed up. This person can commonly be seen wearing a sports jersey, a sign, or a hat in addition to their every day garb. Similar to The "It," there may often be a time when you are prompted to ask what they are - in which case they will either respond with a long explanation of how they are still "dressed up," or simply - "I couldn't care less; I came to party."

3. The Lack Thereof

Most consider this costume to be confined simply to females, but last year I saw a male who had wrapped himself solely in leaves and thought he was good to go. This person has decided that Halloween is the best time of year to show off their favorite sparkly lingerie set. Animal ears are the expected accompaniment, but these costumes are not limited and can be representations of something else entirely. Let's just make sure we leave the costumes at the adult parties, shall we?

4. The Sexual Innuendo
While a rare specimen, this person is quite the prankster and will typically don a flesh-toned suit to keep warm on chilly Hallow's Eve. Some go as "flashers," with very realistic genitalia illustrated underneath, while others a more subtle approach in adopting phallic symbols for their garb. Whatever the case, this person will probably end up making everyone laugh, if tastefully executed.
